Participants will explore strategies for proactive survey preparedness, effective survey management, and post-survey follow-through. The course will also address critical components such as dietary compliance, relicensing and recertification processes, abuse prevention and reporting, and handling complaint and ERI surveys. Through real-world scenarios and expert guidance, attendees will gain actionable insights to improve survey outcomes and maintain regulatory compliance.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Identify key elements of survey preparedness and develop a facility-specific readiness plan to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Demonstrate effective survey management techniques during onsite visits, including staff coordination, documentation practices, and communication with surveyors.
Explain the requirements and best practices for dietary services, re-licensing, and re-certification surveys to support successful outcomes.
Implement protocols for abuse prevention, mandatory reporting, and response to complaints and ERI surveys in alignment with regulatory expectations.
Develop a post-survey action plan that includes exit interview strategies, plan of correction development, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
Topics Include:
- Enhancing Survey Preparedness Competencies: Explore an array of tools and resources designed to enhance your team's readiness for surveys.
- Managing Survey Findings: Learn how to effectively manage your own survey findings, including the identification of top survey findings and implementation of best practices.
- Risk Mitigation: Understand how to manage and minimize risks associated with survey outcomes and develop effective solutions.
