Description:
Survey readiness is no longer a once-a-year event but an ongoing organizational responsibility. SOS: Survey Outcomes and Solutions 2026 is an intensive eight-hour educational program spread out over two separate days, designed to help skilled nursing facilities develop a proactive approach to regulatory compliance and survey success. Participants will gain practical strategies for understanding the survey process, building year-round readiness, utilizing QAPI and Facility Assessment data, strengthening documentation, preparing key departments for survey review, managing survey activities, and addressing Life Safety Code requirements. Through real-world examples and practical tools, attendees will learn to identify compliance risks, improve operational performance, and sustain survey readiness throughout the year. This program is designed for skilled nursing facility staff involved in survey preparedness, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement activities. The content provides practical guidance for both leadership and frontline team members responsible for maintaining survey readiness and supporting successful survey outcomes. 

Learning Objectives:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Describe the current CMS and California survey processes, including surveyor methodology, investigative protocols, and high-risk regulatory focus areas that impact survey outcomes.
Develop a comprehensive survey preparedness program utilizing Facility Assessments, QAPI principles, compliance monitoring systems, and ongoing readiness activities.
Evaluate clinical, dietary, pharmacy, and Life Safety systems for potential compliance risks and implement strategies to reduce survey deficiencies.
Apply effective survey management techniques, including staff interview preparation, documentation review, survey logistics, and coordination of survey activities during onsite inspections.
Create sustainable corrective action and compliance improvement strategies that promote continuous readiness and support successful survey outcomes.

CE Hours (Requested):
Registrants must be logged in individually for both days, 8:30AM - 12:45 Noon each date to receive CE hours (NAB - 8 and BRN - 8).

BOARD REFUND POLICY
In order to receive a refund, cancellations for QCHF/CAHF classes must be made five (5) business days (Monday-Friday) prior to the beginning of the course. Cancellations must be in writing to cmerced@cahf.org. Transfer of registration is done ONLY if notified in writing prior to the start of the class.
