The link will be emailed 24-hours prior to the virtual training date, and 15 minutes prior to the start for all late or same-day registrations. The email will come from an @cahf.org email address.
Description of Course:
Attendees will gain a practical understanding of the evidence-based Federal Critical Element Pathways (CEPs) used by California Department of Public Health surveyors to evaluate compliance during skilled nursing facility surveys. The session will highlight how CEPs guide observations, resident, staff, and family interviews, and focused record reviews. Emphasis will be placed on key CEP criteria relevant to Activities professionals and how compliance is determined in real-time.

Learning Objectives:
Describe how surveyors, including California Department of Public Health, use Critical Element Pathways (CEPs) to evaluate compliance through observations, interviews, and record reviews.
Identify key regulatory requirements across core areas including resident rights, abuse prevention, supervision, Activities programming, and resident engagement.
Apply CEP-based criteria to recognize compliance risks and align Activities practices with survey expectations.
CE Hours (Requested):
BRN - 1 Hour
Registrants must be individually logged in for the full session to receive CE hours and certificate. Certificates will be available on your member dashboard after the conclusion of the training. (quiz and evaluation must be completed first).
Audio/Visual:
Virtual training experiences will happen in real time on the date and time advertised. They will require a Wi-Fi connection, a laptop/computer and/or a smartphone. For the best experience, we highly encourage you to participate in a distraction-free environment.
Materials Provided:
Handouts/materials will be available in the chat box during the training.
BOARD REFUND POLICY
In order to receive a refund, cancellations for QCHF/CAHF classes must be made five (5) business days (Monday-Friday) prior to the beginning of the course. Cancellations must be in writing to cmerced@cahf.org. Transfer of registration is done ONLY if notified in writing prior to the start of the class.
QCHF reserves the rights to cancel this training at any time.
