Description of Course:
This presentation will provide an overview of criminal background check compliance requirements in California healthcare settings. It is designed to help participants understand their responsibilities. Participants should attend to strengthen their understanding of compliance expectations, reduce the risk  of errors, and support patient safety and regulatory readiness. 
 

Who Should Attend:
Administrators, Director of Nursing (DON), Facility Manager, Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)
 

Learning Objectives:
Understand the regulatory basis for criminal background check requirements.
Identify populations and roles subject to background check screening.
Describe the criminal record clearance workflow from submission to final determination. 

CE Hours (Requested):
BRN & NAB - 1 Hour
Registrants must be individually logged in for the full session to receive CE hours and certificate. BRN certificates will be available on your member dashboard after the conclusion of the training. (quiz and evaluation must be completed first). This training is only approved for BRN CEs.

This program has been approved for Continuing Education for 1 total participant hour by NAB/NCERS—Approval #20270622-1-A121671-DL.

Virtual training experiences will happen in real time on the date and time advertised. They will require a Wi-Fi connection, a laptop/computer and/or a smartphone. For the best experience, we highly encourage you to participate in a distraction-free environment.

Handouts/materials will be available in the chat box during the training.

BOARD REFUND POLICY
In order to receive a refund, cancellations for QCHF/CAHF classes must be made five (5) business days (Monday-Friday) prior to the beginning of the course. Cancellations must be in writing to cmerced@cahf.org. Transfer of registration is done ONLY if notified in writing prior to the start of the class.
