Description of Course:
This course provides a comprehensive overview of the labeling requirements for medications and biologicals in skilled nursing facilities as mandated by F Tag 761. Participants will learn how to ensure that all medications are labeled with the correct name, strength, dosage, expiration date and cautionary instructions. Participants should attend to learn how to be compliant for CMS surveys and to avoid common deficiencies.

Who Should Attend:
Administrators, DONs, ADONs, RN, LVN and DSD

Learning Objectives:
List the required labeling components for all medications under F Tag 761,
Differentiate labeling requirements for multi-dose containers, compounded drugs,, and repackaged medications.
Identify common labeling errors and their impact on resident safety and survey outcomes.
Apply facility policies to ensure consistent and compliant labeling practices.
Review standards for medication labeling

CE Hours (Requested):
BRN & NAB - 1 Hour
Registrants must be individually logged in for the full session to receive CE hours and certificate.

In order to receive a refund, cancellations for QCHF/CAHF classes must be made five (5) business days (Monday-Friday) prior to the beginning of the course. Cancellations must be in writing to cmerced@cahf.org. Transfer of registration is done ONLY if notified in writing prior to the start of the class.
