Description of Course:
This presentation explores how menus in skilled nursing can be used to honor residents with dignity through choice, cultural relevance, safety, and person-centered care. It highlights practical strategies for designing respectful dining experiences, including appealing alternatives, individualized preferences, and thoughtful support for texture-modified diets. The presentation also emphasizes the role of staff behaviors and interdisciplinary teamwork in making every meal a meaningful expression of comfort, autonomy, and quality of life.

Identify practical menu and service strategies that honor resident preferences while maintaining nutritional adequacy and safety.
Apply interdisciplinary approaches to improve dining experiences, including support for texture-modified diets and respectful mealtime assistance.

BOARD REFUND POLICY
In order to receive a refund, cancellations for QCHF/CAHF classes must be made five (5) business days (Monday-Friday) prior to the beginning of the course. Cancellations must be in writing to cmerced@cahf.org. Transfer of registration is done ONLY if notified in writing prior to the start of the class.
