The link will be emailed 24-hours prior to the virtual training date, and 15 minutes prior to the start for all late or same-day registrations. The email will come from an @cahf.org email address.

Description of Course:
This course explores the identification, treatment, and management of substance use disorders (SUDs) in older adults. It includes training on screening tools, medication-assisted treatment, and harm reduction strategies.

Who Should Attend:
Administrator, Director of Nursing (DON)
 

Learning Objectives:
1. Recognize signs of substance use and withdrawal in residents
2. Use validated screening tools (e.g., AUDIT, TAPS) to assess risk
3. Understand the role of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) in SUD care
4. Implement harm reduction strategies, including Naloxone use
5. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support recovery

CE Hours (Requested):
BRN & NAB - 1 Hour
Registrants must be individually logged in for the full session to receive CE hours and certificate. BRN certificates will be available on your member dashboard after the conclusion of the training. (quiz and evaluation must be completed first). This training is only approved for BRN CEs.

This program has been requested (but not yet approved) for Continuing Education for 1 total participant hour from NAB/NCERS. Contact member.services@cahf.org for further information. 
 

Audio/Visual:
Virtual training experiences will happen in real time on the date and time advertised. They will require a Wi-Fi connection, a laptop/computer and/or a smartphone. For the best experience, we highly encourage you to participate in a distraction-free environment.

Handouts/materials will be available in the chat box during the training.

BOARD REFUND POLICY
In order to receive a refund, cancellations for QCHF/CAHF classes must be made five (5) business days (Monday-Friday) prior to the beginning of the course. Cancellations must be in writing to cmerced@cahf.org. Transfer of registration is done ONLY if notified in writing prior to the start of the class.
