The link will be emailed 24-hours prior to the virtual training date, and 15 minutes prior to the start for all late or same-day registrations. The email will come from an @cahf.org email address.

Description of Course:
This course introduces trauma-informed care principles and their application in skilled nursing facilities. Staff will learn how to create safe, supportive environments that avoid re-traumatization and promote healing.

Who Should Attend:
Administrator, Director of Nursing (DON), Facility Manager, Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), Quality Assurance Nurse, Infection Preventionist, MDS Coordinator, Registered Nurse (RN), Respiratory Therapist, Licensed Vocational 

Learning Objectives:
1. Define trauma and its effects on behavior and health.
2. Apply the core principles of trauma-informed care in daily practice.
3. Identify signs of trauma-related distress in residents.
4. Modify care approaches to reduce triggers and promote safety.
5. Support staff well-being and resilience in trauma-sensitive environments.

CE Hours (Requested):
BRN & NAB - 1 Hour
Registrants must be individually logged in for the full session to receive CE hours and certificate. Certificates will be available on your member dashboard after the conclusion of the training. (quiz and evaluation must be completed first). 

This program has been requested (but not yet approved) for Continuing Education for one total participant hour from NAB/NCERS. Contact member.services@cahf.org for further information.

Audio/Visual:
Virtual training experiences will happen in real time on the date and time advertised. They will require a Wi-Fi connection, a laptop/computer and/or a smartphone. For the best experience, we highly encourage you to participate in a distraction-free environment.

Materials Provided:
Handouts/materials will be available in the chat box during the training.
